Being fathers day and all, my friend and his dad visited me this weekend here in Bangkok and my friends dad Michael had never been to Thailand. Michael has been divorced for over 10 years now and hasn’t had a girl friend in 10 years. He has been focusing on his company and hasn’t had time. Well, this weekend that all changed. Michael met a 45 year old and very beautiful Thai girl that caught his eye. We were hanging out in Bangkok for lunch and the cashier at the cafe caught his eye. I think they were eye locked the whole time. I’ve never seen anything like it. It was like watching two school kids. He would eyeball her and she would blush and giggle as she worked. What the hell? He is 58 and she was 45 and I’ve never seen anything like it. This Thai girl had him over a barrel and they hadn’t even exchanged names yet…

Michael doesn’t know a bit of Thai and she only could speak a few words so I went over to the cashier and basically translated what Michael wanted me to. She came over to sit down and have some coffee with us and I talked and this Thai girl talked (I don’t know her name). 30 minutes and not a name was mentioned.

Now, because the Thai girl didn’t speak any English, it really couldn’t go anywhere other than hello, how are you, will you meet us later. Well, she had to work and that was that. We paid and left. I didn’t tell Michael that I got her mobile number for him. I told him that if you want to date some Thai girls then you will need to speak the language just a little. He agreed and that was that. I don’t know if he will learn Thai or not but watching the way he looked and acted with her, I’m sure he will. When we were clear of the cafe I asked Michael what he thought about meeting his first Thai girl and his answer will never leave me. He smiled and in the worlds of California’s Governor “I’ll be back”…
