Is it just me or does every Thai girl you see have her cell phone attached to her ear? I’m not talking about a earring accessory but a cell phone up to her ear and talking. Talk, talk, talk. There are more cell phones in Thailand than ever before and I think that 99.99% of the people that have them are Thai girls.

Thai girls uses their cell phones all day and all night. From texting to chatting with their Thai girl friends. Like teenagers all so giddy on their cell phones. If they aren’t on their cell phones they are on the Internet chatting with their boyfriends or chatting with their other Thai girlfriends. Either way they are busy little beavers!

Cell phones are getting a bit stranger by the minute. Just this past weekend during Songkran, I saw many girls with what looked like hearing aids in their ears and attached to an earring. This was a bluetooth accessory that allows you to talk hands free. Kind of cool. I guess Thai girls like to accessories whenever possible.

The crowds at Songkran were huge this weekend. If you were anywhere on Sukhumvit Road around Nana or Asoke BTS, then you saw tons of people including Thai girls with their cell phones. I saw some cell phones wrapped in plastic to keep the water out. I didn’t think it was a good idea to use cell phones during the festival but what is a Thai girl supposed to do when she can’t contact her bo?

I suppose it’s ok. I don’t have a problem with Thai girls on their cell phones all the time. I know that when I go out on a date with a Thai girl, the phone is always there. If her friend calls, I don’t mind. I just factor it all in as part of the Thai dating culture. Since Thai girls are so beautiful and they really don’t mind me, I think I’ll be ok with being put on hold for a few minutes…
